Created Issue: Strange thing happen [21]

Hi,

We have Sharepoint 2010 installed.... We have Sprello installed and configured on partial custom list... Task list where we had some column and change title of others... when we drag and drop Item... it seem to work fine... but if I refresh the page... Sprello change the statut column, type as: String to number which represent the order of the string field

I installed Sprello (v. 1.0.3.0) on SP2010, a few days ago but have not been able to get it to work.

I created a web part page and added Sprello to the page as the only web part. After I configured the part, all icons on the ribbon went gray so I was unable to click on the Close Edit button. If I delete Sprello, the ribbon comes back. If, instead of deleting Sprello, I navigate away from the page and then navigate back to it, Sprello appears on the page, but it is empty. Exposing the console window, and clicking on the ribbon to see the page options, I get the "SCRIPT5009: 'Sprello' is undefined" error that, according to the comments on the Documentation page, was fixed with release 1.0.1.0. I also do not get the ribbon, so the page is uneditable, until I delete Sprello.

I followed the example in the video as I configured the list. I used the standard Issues list, with the following configuration:
List: Issues
Category Field: Priority
Order Field: Order
Title Field: Title
Detail Field: Description
On card click show: Display_Form
I am not allowing adding

Priority is a choice field and order is a numeric field.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

When creating the view for SPrello in the webpart configuration > Detail Field if you put in "Assigned To" rather than a username you get [object, Object].

Has anyone gotten SPrello working on Office 365? I'm getting an error trying to active the WSP. The error is "This solution references prohibited member 'System.Reflection.Assembly.GetCallingAssembly' and cannot be used on this site collection."
I have an Office 365 E1 account.

Comments: Corrected in http://sprello.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/ff1341178983 (v1.0.3) Was using System.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly.AssemblyFileVersion to display version number which is allowed in on-premise sandbox but not SharePoint Online.

Comments: I've confirmed this problem - it must be some check added recently to SharePoint Online as it was working ok recently (and it doesn't use GetCallingAssembly directly so must be used indirectly). Leave it with me

It would be nice to be able to connect webpart to other webparts like listview or something like that. Have you any idea how to do that?
Comments: I'm having agenda which is sharepoint list and title of angenda need to be dragble so that i can reorder titles. For that i use your sprello webpart wich is work great. But i having another sharepoint list wich need to be connectable with sprello title. So scenario is simthing like this. When i reorder agenda druring the session an people click on title in sprello another sharepoint list return some data related to sprello title.

Thought I would put this out there. I don't think that this SPrello tool should go in a direction that requires a lot of setup by the user. I think this tool should remain
independent from any list or library that it is used for. I bring this up for two reasons. First it already started down that path with the "order" column. In order to use ordering it is required that a user setup a order column yet none of that is explained
much to the users. Secondly the thought of color coding the cards would be more easily accomplished via calculated columns and custom lists. This raises the entry level for the tool. Meaning users now have to have a good understanding of SPrello and SharePoint
column types and how it all works together.

My suggestion is simple, keep all of it in the EditorPart for the WebPart. Don't require any setup by the user in order to use the webpart. Make it easy on the user. An
example would be using drop down combo boxes for the existing configurations instead of relying on the user to type the correct information in.

I recently ran into an issue where several people were editing a list simultaneously via SPrello and found the main problem was that when they added cards and would drag cards around to update priorities the users would get errors about version but it would also mess up the work they were doing like no saving the changes they made to a field.

So I guess my request is two fold. first, the ability to push updates to the browsers (like reverse AJAX). Second, the ability to "check out" a list item so if one person is editing it then no one else can.

Generally only one person would update a task at one time (owner of the task obviously) but I accidentally got several dozen people (possibly more) logged into my test list at the same time trying to mess around with it to see how it works and this request was the result.
Comments: Its a really nice idea - but is going to be really really hard to get this to work in the 'sandbox model' that this web part is deployed in (and all 365 compatible webparts have to be).

Order by issues, anytime you try to apply any type of order by you get the following error when trying to move a card from one priority to another
I added a screen shot of error to attachments
Comments: Opps - only just seen this! This works OK for me so there must be a difference in setup. Can you check what field type you've got for your order column (should be number) please - perhaps send screenshots of your list config and sprello toolpart config?
